A Look Back at the 2026 Aquascape Open Pond Tour
The 2026 Aquascape Open Pond Tour has wrapped up, and what an incredible weekend it was.
Across Australia, Certified Aquascape Contractors opened the gates to their projects, inviting visitors to experience real ecosystem ponds, recreation ponds and water features in action. From Queensland through to Western Australia, pond lovers, homeowners and landscapers had the chance to see these living aquatic ecosystems up close.
For many visitors, it was their first time standing beside a fully functioning recreation pond or ecosystem pond and seeing how these systems work in a real landscape.
A Nationwide Pond Tour
This year’s tour spanned four Australian states, with locations across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia, along with an international location hosted in Sharjah Sustainable City.
Over the course of the weekend, visitors explored a wide range of Aquascape builds, including:
-
ecosystem ponds
-
large recreation ponds
-
pondless waterfalls
-
plunge ponds with creeks
-
decorative water features
-
waterfall and stream systems
Each location offered something unique, showcasing the creativity and craftsmanship of Aquascape Certified Contractors.
Highlights from Across the Country
The Open Pond Tour gave visitors the opportunity to experience a wide variety of projects in real homes and landscapes.
In Queensland, Waterscapes Australia hosted visitors in Yandina, showcasing a mix of pond, pondless and decorative water features, while Organic Pools Queensland welcomed guests to explore their award-winning recreation pond.
In New South Wales, Native Flow Landscapes and SJC Landscapes opened their projects, giving visitors the chance to see both ecosystem ponds and recreation ponds integrated into residential landscapes.
Victoria saw some of the largest participation in the tour, with multiple recreation ponds, plunge ponds and pondless water features on display. Contractors including Carrig Rock & Water Features, Reach Rock Art, Flow by Design, Bells Water Gardens and PCB Waterscapes hosted visitors across several locations.
In Western Australia, Suitz Landscaping showcased both a large ecosystem pond and a recreation pond, while Wellgevity Landscapes welcomed visitors to experience a beautiful pond, waterfall and stream system in Quindalup.
Together, these locations highlighted the diversity of Aquascape builds and the many ways water can transform a landscape.
Seeing a Pond in Person Changes Everything
Seeing a pond in person is very different from seeing photos online.
The Open Pond Tour allows visitors to:
-
hear the sound of waterfalls and moving water
-
see the clarity of a healthy ecosystem pond
-
watch fish swimming through the system
-
speak directly with the contractors who build and maintain them
It’s a unique opportunity to understand how these natural water features function as living ecosystems.
